The former acting general director of a state-owned defense industry enterprise and three of his employees have been notified of new suspicions - regarding a scheme to destroy the state defense enterprise with losses amounting to millions of hryvnias, reported on Thursday Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko on social media, writes UNN.
While some worked for the country's defense, others dismantled the defense enterprise for scrap metal, and the funds were spent on purchasing luxury cars. Prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General notified the former acting general director of a state-owned defense industry enterprise and three of his employees of new suspicions
According to the investigation, "the head of the former defense enterprise, which was in the privatization stage, instead of properly managing its assets, actually, together with subordinates, organized a scheme for its destruction." "The equipment was dismantled, cut up, removed, and handed over as scrap metal," the Prosecutor General stated.
Law enforcement officers, according to him, "documented how the scheme participants coordinated by phone the arrival of buyers, the preparation of metal, and its transportation to a collection point."
"The losses to the state enterprise amount to millions of hryvnias," Kravchenko indicated.
However, according to him, this is not the only episode.
"Earlier, this same former head and chief engineer were already notified of suspicion of receiving undue benefits for transferring the use of warehouse premises of the state enterprise without concluding lease agreements," the Prosecutor General noted.
Also during the war, according to the Prosecutor General, "the suspect became the actual owner of a fleet of luxury cars, including a BMW M8, Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, and Lamborghini Murciélago." "According to the investigation, the expensive cars were registered to relatives and related persons, although in reality he personally owned and used them, while not declaring them," he indicated.
"Now he has been notified of a new suspicion for entering deliberately false information in declarations for 2024 and 2025," Kravchenko reported.
One of the most telling episodes, according to him, is the purchase in 2024 of an Audi RS7.
"The car was purchased for 4 million hryvnias, and on the same day it was registered to the suspect's mother, indicating in another contract a price of only 100,000 hryvnias. That is, in one day the price of the car in the documents decreased by 40 times. Six months later, the Audi was re-registered to a third party for 4.2 million hryvnias, but this car never appeared in the declaration for 2024," the Prosecutor General said.
The amount of false information in the declaration for 2024, according to him, is 11.5 million hryvnias, and for 2025 - almost 13 million hryvnias.
The pre-trial investigation has been completed. The suspects have been given access to the materials of the criminal proceedings for review.
"Defense enterprises should work to strengthen the state, not to enrich their leaders. We continue to work," Kravchenko emphasized.
