This summer, London will host a unique event for film buffs and Star Wars fans - for the first time in decades, the original version of the cult 1977 film will be shown on the big screen. This was reported by the BBC, writes UNN.

The original version of the science fiction blockbuster will be screened as part of the British Film Institute (BFI) Film on Film festival on June 12.
The BFI said this version of the film has rarely been shown publicly since George Lucas' special editions were released in the 1990s, which changed some plot points and added other CGI characters.
Today, only updated versions are available on official streaming platforms and Blu-ray, so screenings of the original version of the film are rare.
James Bell, Senior Curator of Fiction at the British Film Institute's National Archive, said the festival has become a "true showcase" of the national collection.
"Every print in the program is a unique object, with its own life story, and they all proudly bear their scars," he said.
"They allow us to touch the past, and we look forward to audiences seeing it all for themselves," Bell added.
The changes Lucas made to key plot points, including the addition of Jabba the Hutt and other special effects improvements, have long divided fans.
The most controversial remake was the scene in which Han Solo (Harrison Ford) shoots bounty hunter Greedo.
In the original version, Solo shoots first. However, the 1997 reissue changed the scene to show Ford's character acting in self-defense.
The scene underwent further editing, and other versions of the film showed them shooting at the same time.
