Law enforcement officers exposed an official from the canine training center who wanted to establish a channel for transporting men abroad. For 21,000 euros, he promised to transport a resident of the Lviv region to Europe. This is reported by the State Bureau of Investigation, reports UNN.
In early July of this year, the official offered the man to transfer him across the state border for 21,000 euros. The official explained the large amount by the urgency and complexity of the task. He also promised to help his acquaintances leave for Europe.
According to the plan, the man was supposed to reach the city of Chop in Zakarpattia on his own, from where, until the accompanying persons were not established, they were to transport him on foot outside the checkpoints. The official advised the man to take suitable clothing and footwear for the hike, the State Bureau of Investigation reported.
The transfer of money was supposed to take place on August 11 near the bus station in Lviv. He asked his acquaintance, who did not know about the "scheme", to collect the funds. After receiving the funds from the intermediary, the official was detained by law enforcement officers.
He was informed of the suspicion of illegal transportation of persons across the state border (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to nine years.
The court chose the detained person a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail.
The investigation is ongoing, the full circle of involved persons is being established.
