According to the investigation, the driver of a Volkswagen Transporter, moving in the same direction as a route bus, failed to choose a safe speed, lost control, and collided with the bus, which had about 20 passengers. As a result of the accident, one passenger died and 14 others were injured.
Immediately after the accident, SBI employees arrived at the scene and began initial investigative actions. Necessary examinations are currently underway, including to determine the driver's condition at the time of the accident.
He is suspected of violating road safety rules, which caused the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment.
