Criminal proceedings have been initiated over a bus accident in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district, where a bus crashed into a parked Niva and Mitsubishi, killing a passenger and seriously injuring four people, including the drivers, and hospitalizing them, the Kyiv police said on Monday, UNN reported.

"Law enforcement officers found that the 38-year-old bus driver, moving down Akademika Zabolotnoho Street, hit Niva and Mitsubishi cars that had stopped to repair one of the cars that broke down while driving. After the collision with the vehicles, the bus drove off the road in an uncontrolled state," the statement said.
"As a result of the accident, a passenger of the Niva car died at the scene. Four people, the drivers of the bus and two other cars and a passenger of the Mitsubishi, were seriously injured and hospitalized," the police said.
The incident was registered in the URPTI under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles, if they caused the death of the victim or caused serious bodily injury.
