In Kazan, an air raid alert was announced for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale war against Ukraine. The first siren sounded around 10:00 PM on April 9, and a repeated warning about "missile danger" – around 02:00 AM on April 10.
Local residents reported loud sounds and air defense operations. The distance from the Ukrainian border to Kazan is over 1200 km.
Explosions and fires
In Saransk, after the alarm, a fire broke out, probably after an impact. A powerful explosion and fire were recorded in Gukovo, Rostov region; the circumstances are being clarified.
In Volgograd, residents heard the hum of drones at low altitude and at least 5-7 explosions in the southern part of the city.
In neighboring Volzhsky, engine sounds and flashes were also reported, and car alarms went off due to explosions.
Volgograd airport suspended the reception and departure of flights from 11:47 PM on April 9 due to the threat of drone attacks.
Earlier, strikes on oil depots and positions of Bastion missile systems were reported.
In the Belgorod region, four people were reported injured, including a 15-year-old girl.
