An EU mission has arrived in Ukraine to monitor the implementation of the indicators of the Ukraine Facility Plan, the Ministry of Economy said on Tuesday, UNN reports.
In the next three days, we will hold consultations with our European colleagues on the status of implementation of the indicators of the Ukraine Plan under the EU's Ukraine Facility program for the third and fourth quarters of this year
The first panel discussion was chaired by Oleksiy Sobolev and Marlene Rosemarie Madsen, Head of Economic and Sectoral Policy, Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, DG ENP.
Marlene Rosemarie Madsen reportedly "praised the organization of work on coordinating and monitoring the implementation of reforms, and stated that the process of implementing some indicators is ahead of schedule.
During the third quarter of 2024, Ukraine plans to fulfill 9 indicators, which will allow it to receive €4 billion in November 2024, of which €1.5 billion will be grant funding, according to the Ministry of Economy.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the following steps are being considered:
- Increasing the number of SAPO employees
- Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine on Combating Corruption Enter into Force
- Approval of the action plan for the implementation of the Asset Recovery Strategy for 2023-2025
- Approval of a comprehensive Demographic Development Strategy for the period up to 2040
- Adoption of the Deregulation Action Plan
- Entry into force of the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution on Amendments to the State Strategy for Regional Development for 2021-2027
- Implementation of the REMIT law
- Adoption of the law on prevention, reduction and control of industrial pollution
- Development of a concept note defining the scope of deviations from the EIA and SEA rules
"As part of the implementation of the Ukraine Facility Plan, the Ministry of Economy submits quarterly reports to the European Commission on the implementation of the Plan's indicators. After a positive assessment by the European Commission and EU member states, the decision to allocate funds is approved by the EU Council," the Ministry said.
