Due to shelling, residents of five regions are without electricity, and two energy workers were killed in the Donetsk region. A fire is being extinguished in the Chernobyl zone; radiation levels remain normal.

Enemy attacks have left residents in 5 regions without power, bad weather affected another, two power engineers were killed due to an enemy strike, and a forest fire continues in the Chernobyl zone; the radiation background remains within normal limits, the Ministry of Energy reported on Tuesday, UNN writes.

Enemy attacks

"As a result of hostilities, some consumers in the Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv regions temporarily remain without electricity supply," the report says.

Power engineers are working in an intensified mode to restore electricity supply to all subscribers as quickly as possible. Restoration work continues around the clock.

"In the Donetsk region, two workers of the energy industry were killed as a result of an enemy attack on an energy facility. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine expresses its sincere condolences to their families and loved ones," the ministry noted.

Fire in the Chernobyl zone

"In the Chernobyl exclusion zone, the elimination of a fire that broke out on May 7 on the territory of the Chernobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve continues," the report says.

The fire has been localized; State Emergency Service rescuers, together with exclusion zone specialists, "continue to eliminate individual pockets of smoldering, particularly peat."

"The situation is under control. No exceedances of control levels of gamma radiation have been recorded in the exclusion zone; the radiation background remains within normal limits," the Ministry of Energy indicated.

Bad weather

"Due to bad weather, consumers in the Zakarpattia region remain without electricity supply," the ministry noted.

Repair crews are working on restoration.

Schedules and consumption

"The application of restrictions is not predicted for today," the report says.

"Active energy consumption today should be shifted to the daytime — from 11:00 to 15:00. In the evening hours, we ask consumers, if possible, to use electricity sparingly — from 18:00 to 22:00. This helps reduce the load on the system," the Ministry of Energy emphasized.
