At night, the enemy attacked energy infrastructure facilities - high-voltage substations in Poltava and Lviv regions, and blackout schedules are in effect in Kharkiv region. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy on Tuesday, UNN reports.
Consequences of enemy shelling
"At night, the enemy attacked a high-voltage substation in Poltava region - a fire broke out on the territory, which was extinguished by the State Emergency Service, no one was injured. There is damage to the equipment," the Energy Ministry said.
"A high-voltage substation in Lviv region was also attacked, with equipment on fire. There were no casualties. The consequences of the night attacks are being examined and clarified," the ministry said.
Due to the fighting in Dnipropetrovs'k region, two high-voltage power lines were reportedly disconnected at the same time, and an industrial facility lost power. Consumers have been supplied with electricity.
Generation, transmission and consumption
"Over the past day, due to network restrictions on the transmission system operator's lines, blackout schedules were applied in Kharkiv region. This morning, blackout schedules are also in effect in the Kharkiv region," the Ministry of Energy said.
During the day, Ukraine's power system reportedly experienced a surplus, with excess electricity being supplied to Poland. Also, due to the sunny weather and, accordingly, the active generation of electricity by SPPs, the transmission system operator limited the production of electricity from renewable energy sources.
During the peak evening hours of consumption, emergency electricity supplies from Poland, Romania, and Slovakia were made within two hours at the request of the transmission system operator, the agency added.
"Ukraine's energy system is operating in a stable and balanced manner," the Ministry of Energy said.
Networks status
Technical problems at a high-voltage substation in Lviv region reportedly caused a blackout of the railroad (no train traffic was disrupted) and industry. At the same time, solar power plants reduced their generation. Within an hour, power supply was restored to all consumers.
In Mykolaiv region, a high-voltage substation was shut down due to equipment damage, and household consumers lost power. Everyone has been supplied with power, the Ministry said.
Situation at ZNPP
"The water level in the cooling pond is 15.49 meters. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant," the Ministry of Energy said.
Import and export
For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 1781 MWh. Exports of up to 345 MWh are also expected.
