President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in a video format with the athletes who will represent our country at the XXXIII Summer Olympics in Paris and their coaches. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Office of the President.

The Head of State noted that the performance of Ukrainian athletes at the Olympic Games in Paris would become a symbol of memory of Ukrainians killed by Russia. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, 489 Ukrainian athletes and coaches have been killed and 10 have gone missing.
The President thanked the coaching staff and management of the national Olympic team for their continued support and training of the athletes.
This is a great victory for the entire European community, for the whole world, that Ukraine does not give up, it is also fighting at the Olympics. It is very important that we keep our national team

The Head of State emphasized that athletes of the aggressor state of Russia in team sports and those who support the war were officially banned from competing at the Olympics in Paris. This is an achievement of the entire civilized world.
Olympic champions in rowing Anastasia Kozhenkova, Olena Kostevych in shooting, Oleksandr Khyzhnyak, silver medalist in boxing, and Ilya Tseliutin, head coach of the national diving team, thanked the President for his support and emphasized that they would do everything possible to represent Ukraine at the Summer Olympics.
The President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Vadym Hutzeit presented Volodymyr Zelenskyy with the uniform of the Ukrainian national Olympic team.

Representatives of the Ukrainian national gymnastics team have arrived at the Olympic Village in Paris. The four gymnasts have already had two training sessions, one in the morning and one in the evening.
