Geneva police brought more than two dozen people to police stations and arrested three in connection with the violence that accompanied anti-G7 protests in the city on Sunday, UNN reports.

Monica Bonfanti, the Geneva police chief, said on Monday that officers conducted identity checks on nearly 550 people as part of police operations that included the use of tear gas and water cannons against stone-throwing youths during the "No to G7" march.
Two demonstrators who used pyrotechnic devices and another who damaged a police vehicle were arrested and later released, she said.
Bonfanti stated that the tactics of the so-called "black block" militants made identity checks difficult. She said some of them mingled with peaceful protesters and changed their clothes during the demonstration.
