When asked about the situation on the border with the Kursk region and what functions the State Border Guard Service performs there, Demchenko replied: "No one has removed the tasks of the State Border Guard Service and our units, which are to protect and defend the border. In this situation, we can even continue to take measures to strengthen our border, because, as noted, we do not need other people's territories.
He noted that Ukraine must have strong defense positions, because Russia will not disappear.
"We have an internationally recognized border, and in the future, given that Russia will not disappear, given that this country will remain our aggressor, we must have strong positions, strong defense positions, and border guards are the first on the border. In terms of engineering and fortification, we now have the opportunity to continue to strengthen the line of our state border and prevent any illegal actions that could occur at the border," said Demchenko.
