Court orders restrictive measures for ESBU employees exposed in bribery case

An ESBU detective was remanded in custody with bail set at 5 million UAH for bribery. A department analyst received house arrest for schemes involving license manipulations.

The court has ordered preventive measures for employees of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine who were caught receiving illegal benefits, UNN reports, citing the Prosecutor General's Office.

Details

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, a senior detective of the BES Territorial Office in the Kyiv region was ordered to be held in custody with an alternative of 5 million UAH bail. According to the investigation, he demanded 15,000 USD for not bringing a man to criminal responsibility.

An analyst of the BES of Ukraine, suspected of receiving 2,000 USD for "resolving the issue" regarding the issuance of a fuel storage license, was placed under 24-hour house arrest by the court.
