In Odesa, civilians attempted to rescue a man who had been detained by the police. People blocked the road, and during the conflict, a police service vehicle was damaged. The police are establishing the circumstances, reports the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region, according to UNN.
It was preliminary established that while checking the documents of a male passerby, district officers of the territorial police unit found that the latter was wanted as a person who had gone AWOL (absent without leave) from a military unit. During the police attempt to detain the citizen for further transfer to representatives of the Military Law Enforcement Service, a group of aggressive passersby intervened. Citizens began blocking the movement of the service vehicle and obstructing the lawful actions of law enforcement officers,
The police stated that one of the participants in the incident damaged the police service vehicle with a metal chain. To stop the offense and ensure public order, additional patrol police crews, officers from the Tactical Response Unit (TOR), and an investigative-operational group arrived at the scene.
Currently, several of the most active participants in the event have been brought to the territorial police unit to establish all circumstances and provide explanations. After gathering all necessary materials, the event will be given an appropriate legal classification,
