Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announces his resignation

Viktor Nikolyuk, the commander of the Ukrainian Army's training, has announced his resignation. Nikolyuk said that he plans to lead one of the formations and one of the front lines. He wrote about this on Facebook, reports UNN

I am resigning from the command of the Land Forces Training Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and wish my successor to continue to build on the potential we have jointly developed over the year

-Nikolyuk wrote.

He pointed out that the current time requires every Ukrainian, and especially the military, to make every effort to defeat the Russian enemy. 

"And I plan to do all this by heading one of the formations and one of the frontline areas," added Nikoliuk.

Viktor Nikoliuk was born on October 19, 1975, in the village of Shyshkyne, Kirovohrad region. In 1996, he graduated from the Kharkiv Guards Higher Tank Command School, and in 2007 from the Ivan Chernyakhovsky National Defense University of Ukraine. 

During his service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he commanded a reconnaissance company, a tank battalion and a mechanized regiment at the Desna training center, was the Chief of Staff of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade, and later the commander of the 92nd Mechanized Brigade.

In March 2017, Viktor Nikoliuk was appointed head of the 169th Training Center.  On December 5, 2018, he was promoted to the rank of Major General.  From October 2021 to March 2023, he was  the commander of the "North" Joint Forces Command.

In March 2023, he was appointed Commander of the Land Forces Training Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
