Passenger traffic through Ukrainian checkpoints during the new year and Christmas holidays may increase significantly, reaching 120 thousand people per day. Now the average number of travelers is 70-75 thousand people a day, with peaks of up to 90 thousand on weekends. Therefore, people should plan their trips in advance to avoid queues.

Now passenger traffic is stable, at the level of 70-75 thousand people per day in both directions. On weekdays, it sometimes increases to 80 thousand, and on weekends — up to 90 thousand. He added that with the approach of the holidays, passenger traffic usually begins to grow.
"Analyzing previous years during martial law, we can expect that on some days the flow will reach 120 thousand people per day. People should be prepared for this and plan their trips in advance," the speaker stressed.
How to avoid queues
To avoid waiting at the border, Demchenko advised choosing less busy destinations. Information about the workload of checkpoints is updated every three hours on the Western Regional Administration's Facebook page.
Prepare all the necessary documents in advance.During the holidays, the number of trips with children increases, which often raises additional questions.
If the child is not traveling abroad with his parents, it is necessary to prepare documents that allow a third party to accompany the minor. In this case, it is better to check all the papers in advance to avoid problems at the border
The rules for crossing the border and refusing, according to the speaker, the rules for crossing the border have remained unchanged for a long time.
However, every day from 100 to 150 people are rejected.
"This applies primarily to men aged 18 to 60 who are trying to leave without falling under the established conditions. Sometimes the reason is insufficient documents or even that they were simply forgotten at home," Demchenko said.
