China denies accusations by US President Donald Trump that it sought to influence US elections and obtained tens of millions of records of US voter data, UNN reports citing CNN.

In a statement to CNN on Thursday, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in the United States in Washington said: "China has always adhered to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries. The US elections are an internal affair of the United States. Their results are determined by the votes of the American people."
"China has never interfered and will never interfere in the US presidential elections," the statement said.
Beijing has repeatedly denied previous allegations related to election interference and political meddling by a number of Western countries, including Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom, as well as the United States.

In his prime-time address, US President Donald Trump claimed there were vulnerabilities in American election systems, although declassified documents released by his administration mostly pertain to vulnerabilities that have been known for many years and that election officials across the country have been trying to address.
Trump stated during the speech that US intelligence agencies began learning in 2020 about "tens of millions of voter data in 18 states that were bought, stolen, or hacked by China."

Trump said his goal is "not to undermine trust," although critics argue that is exactly what he did, the publication notes.
In his address, Trump also highlighted his administration's economic agenda and immigration policies. He also referenced the latest inflation report, promoted his "Trump Accounts" initiative (a savings account program for every child born in the United States with an initial government contribution of $1,000), and barely mentioned the war with Iran.
