An indictment has been sent to court in the case regarding the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl in the Vinnytsia region. According to the investigation, the accused—a 26-year-old serviceman—is also suspected of desertion and sexual crimes against a minor. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to UNN.
Vinnytsia prosecutors have sent an indictment to court in the case of the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl
The accused is a 26-year-old serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He is charged with desertion, sexual crimes against a minor, and intentional murder committed to conceal another crime. The tragic events took place between July and October 2024 in the Vinnytsia district.
After undergoing medical treatment at his place of residence, the serviceman failed to return to his unit's location and did not report the reasons for his absence. During this period, he began meeting women on social media. According to the case materials, he met a minor girl who was 14 at the time they met and had turned 15 a month before her death.
Through pressure and manipulation, the man twice forced the victim into meetings, during which he committed acts of a sexual nature against her.
During their last meeting in October, the girl asked the perpetrator to stop everything, otherwise she would report him to the police. Fearing that he would have to answer for his crimes, the accused decided to take the girl's life.
He put her on a motorcycle and drove her to an abandoned house in a neighboring community. There, he raped the victim and then beat her to death with a bat he had brought from home, which indicates premeditated intent.
The girl died on the spot from her injuries. The man then wrapped her body in a blanket and threw it into a well in the yard. He also threw her personal belongings, his own clothes with traces of the crime, and the weapon—a wooden bat—into the same well.
The man was detained a day later at his parents' house. The indictment has been submitted to the court for consideration on the merits. The accused remains in custody.
