"By making this decision, our country is sending a clear signal of its commitment to supporting Ukraine, upholding Euro-Atlantic values and strengthening its alliance solidarity through joint efforts to maintain international peace and security," the statement said.

It is noted that given "the proximity of the conflict to Bulgaria's borders and its significance for European security, Bulgaria's contribution to Operation NSATU is in line with the efforts of other Allies".

Thus, the Bulgarian Cabinet of Ministers has authorized the participation of the Bulgarian military in the NATO initiative, under the auspices of which Ukrainian military personnel will be trained.
