BMW has planned a multitude of new models for the remaining part of 2026 and for the entire 2027. The names are not yet disclosed, but there is a fairly good idea of what is expected - the new products will cover all segments, from compact cars to full-size models, reports Motor1.com, writes UNN.

BMW has been the dominant player in the luxury car segment for several years, significantly ahead of Mercedes and Audi. The company achieved first place not by chance, but through a multi-level strategy that included key decisions such as a significant expansion of the model range and the retention of all powertrains, the publication writes. In the near future, Munich will continue to produce new models with gasoline, diesel, electric engines and plug-in hybrids. A hydrogen model is even on the way.
The publication points to an "interesting slide in a document prepared for investors." "Following new models such as the i3, iX3, the updated 7 Series and X5/iX5, a multitude of new cars will arrive by the end of 2027," citing an image, but notes that the caption states: "Illustration only."
As the publication notes, the new products will cover all segments and almost all body types. In 2026, much will still be seen, the publication notes, against the backdrop of the next generation 3 Series with internal combustion engines not yet being presented. Such a world premiere is expected to take place by the end of the year. At the same time, BMW is expected to release the first-ever iX4. Another generation of the X4 with internal combustion engines is not yet planned.
Many new BMW models will appear next year
2027 is also expected to be packed with the launch of new models. Only a few models have been officially confirmed for next year. There is the electric M3, the 7 Series under the Alpina brand, and the second-generation X7, which is widely believed to become the basis for the fully electric iX7. Given that BMW has already teased the i3 Touring, the electric station wagon will likely be presented next year. There is a high probability that it will be joined by another 3 Series Touring with an internal combustion engine, the publication writes.
If spy photos are to be believed, BMW will give the 5 Series a facelift in the style of the Neue Klasse, extending it to both the sedan and the station wagon, as well as their M versions. As with all future company models, the updates will lead to a radically changed dashboard with a large central screen and a pillar-to-pillar head-up display. Since the new X5 already has an optional passenger screen, it could also appear in the 5 Series, the publication writes.
BMW's most compact crossover is undergoing changes
Changes will also occur in the more affordable X1 and iX1 models, but with one peculiarity. There are rumors that the compact crossover (SUV) with traditional powertrains will receive a mid-lifecycle update, while the fully electric model will skip the facelift and immediately move to the next generation. Sources close to the company claim that the iX1 will switch to a rear-wheel-drive platform with the latest developments in electric motors and cylindrical battery cells.
The recently spotted i4 convertible will likely not appear before 2028, when the next generation of the X6 is also expected. Perhaps the crossover project that was rumored was canceled at an early stage, but it was anyway only supposed to appear at the end of this decade, the publication notes.
While BMW updates and refines its models, some of them may be discontinued. The Z4 and 8 Series are already in the past, and the i4 Gran Coupe is not far behind, the publication writes. A successor to the iX is unlikely, as the iX5 and iX7 can easily fill that gap, and the appearance of another 2 Series Active Tourer does not seem like the best idea, the publication notes. As for the XM, its future is still in question.
