U.S. President Joe Biden, who intends to run as a Democratic candidate, has narrowed his lead over Republican Donald Trump in six of the seven swing states. This is evidenced by the results of a monthly survey conducted by Bloomberg News and Morning Consult from March 8 to 15 in Arizona, Wisconsin, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, UNN reports .
Details
Joe Biden's most significant improvements were in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. According to the February poll in Wisconsin, Mr. Trump was ahead of Mr. Biden by 4 percentage points. However, a March poll in the state showed that Biden now leads Mr. Trump by 1 percentage point, bringing the chances of both candidates in the state to a tie.
The poll results show that overall, Donald Trump maintains an overall advantage over Joe Biden in "swing states" - 47% to 43%. However, when independent presidential candidates Robert Kennedy Jr., Cornel West, and Jill Stein are taken into account, Mr. Trump receives 43% in swing states, while Biden receives 38%.
The poll, as noted by the agency, was conducted on March 8, the day after Joe Biden addressed Congress. Bloomberg suggests that Biden's "energetic performance" reduced Americans' concerns about his age.
The US presidential election is scheduled for November 2024.
