US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken asked Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani during a conversation with him on Wednesday, August 1, to convey a message to Iran and Hezbollah after the elimination of Hamas leaders. This was reported by CNN, according to UNN.
A CNN source said that Blinken's messages were a call to calm the escalation and not to react to the assassination of Hezbollah leader Fouad Shukr and Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
The source added that the Qatari prime minister agreed to pass on the message.
