Be careful in crowded places, because that's where pickpockets are most likely to operate. Law enforcement officers also advise the following:
Always keep your bag or backpack in front of you, not on your back or side.
Avoid showing your wallet, money, or other valuables in public places.
Carry only the amount of money you need at the moment.
Keep important items such as documents, keys, and phones in your inside pockets or waist bags.
Pay attention to people who try to distract you with questions or actions. This is often part of the tactics of thieves.
Do not carry your bank card PIN with you or write it down on your phone.
If someone is acting suspiciously or getting too close to you in public transportation or on the street, be on the lookout.
If you need police assistance, call 102 or 112.
