Law enforcement officers exposed the leadership of a military unit in Lviv, who, for a reward, allowed soldiers to work at private service stations instead of serving. This is reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation, reports UNN.
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, together with the DSR and the SBU, exposed a corruption scheme in one of the military units of Lviv. Two deputy commanders and two company commanders organized an illegal scheme, according to which servicemen who did not want to perform their duties could avoid serving
According to the investigation, officials allowed seven contract soldiers not to appear for service and work at private service stations in Lviv and the region. At the same time, they forced the military to transfer to them the financial support that they officially received in the military unit. This scheme operated from July 2024 to March 2025.
All four officials have been notified of suspicion of abuse of power by a group of persons by prior conspiracy (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the articles provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 12 years. A motion has been filed with the court to select preventive measures and remove the suspects from office.
The investigation is ongoing – the full circle of involved persons and the damage caused to the state are being established.
