According to law enforcement, the incident occurred on October 27 at around 19:00 on Zamkova Street in Rivne. A local resident reported the fireworks to the police, and a video of the fireworks launch was shared on social media.
Officers of the Rivne District Criminal Police immediately began searching for the offender and identified him yesterday, October 29.
He was a 17-year-old resident of Rivne. The boy said that he found the pyrotechnic at home and did not know about the ban on the use of pyrotechnic products.
Police investigators opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - hooliganism. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
Law enforcement officials emphasized the categorical prohibition of the use of any pyrotechnic products during martial law. This offense is punishable by up to five years of imprisonment.
