All political and legal differences should be put aside and a full-fledged Special Tribunal for the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine should be established. This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, speaking at the European Parliament in Brussels at the conference "Justice and Accountability for Russia's War against Ukraine. Recommendations and the Way Forward", UNN reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Kuleba noted that one of the main reasons for the continuation of Russian aggression against Ukraine is Vladimir Putin's hope that a war of attrition or a frozen conflict will allow Russia and its leadership to avoid responsibility for their crimes.
We have already seen how quickly wars can break out. Unfortunately, there are many forces in the world that believe in war as an effective way to achieve their goals. If these forces see that Russian aggression has led to some troubles for Moscow, but in general has allowed it to achieve the goals of this aggression, then nothing will prevent them from repeating Russian actions in other parts of the world

The Minister expressed gratitude to the European Parliament and its members for their firm and principled position on the need to punish Russia, as well as to representatives of the International Bar Association and the Ukrainian Bar Association for their efforts to support the creation of the Special Tribunal.
"Russia is now fighting for impunity. Instead, Ukraine is fighting for justice. This is one of the many differences between them and us. It depends on all of us - leaders, ministers, MPs, experts, lawyers and all people - which side we choose," Kuleba said.
Kuleba also emphasized that the Special Tribunal would also allow for justice for the fallen Ukrainian soldiers. According to the minister, punishment for the crime of aggression against Ukraine is an integral part of ensuring full and complete accountability, which is one of the key components of President Zelenskyy's Peace Formula.
"The crime of aggression against Ukraine has been committed. It must be punished. If we allow Putin and his associates to escape responsibility for their crimes, we will condemn our children to live in a world full of wars and injustice. We must put aside all political and legal differences and create a full-fledged Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine," he said.
Kuleba separately emphasized the need to resolve the issue of the immunities of the so-called "troika": Vladimir Putin, his prime minister and foreign minister.
