Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov expressed confidence that in January the US Congress will return to the issue of assistance to Ukraine and vote for an aid package. He said this during a telethon, a correspondent of UNN reports.
The support of the United States, as it was, is and I am more than confident that it will be. The United States will fulfill its commitments to help our country, these are not empty words, you know that a lot has already been done
He believes that in January, the issue of aid to Ukraine will be on the US agenda.
"As for the next US procedural issue, there is an understanding that it will definitely happen, I think it will most likely happen in January. There is no need to make any tragedy. I think in January this issue will be on the agenda in the United States and we will have a positive result," Danilov said.

The U.S. Congress will return to the issue of aid to Ukraine only in January 2024. This follows from a joint statement by Senate Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, released on Tuesday, December 19.
The United States has already allocated more than $100 billion to arm and support Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, and US President Joe Biden has asked Congress to approve another $60 billion. However, Republicans in Congress are increasingly skeptical about the need to continue funding Ukraine's defense.
Currently, Republicans are demanding changes to immigration rules in exchange for unblocking additional aid to Ukraine. A small group of lawmakers from both parties, together with representatives of the Biden administration, are trying to work out a deal that will have sufficient support from both sides.
