In a special school in the Ternopil region, facts of violations of children's rights and violent acts against students were revealed, and criminal proceedings were initiated under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the Prosecutor General's Office reported on Thursday, UNN reports.

"An investigation has been launched into the facts of violent actions in one of the special educational institutions of Ternopil region," the statement reads.
As indicated, the results of the monitoring visit of the Representative of the Ombudsperson for Children's Rights to one of the special schools in Ternopil region revealed facts of violations of children's rights, including violent acts against pupils of the special educational institution.
The juvenile prosecutors of the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor's Office initiated criminal proceedings over these facts under Articles 137, 151, 153, 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (improper performance of their professional duties to protect the life and health of minors, illegal placement of a healthy person in a psychiatric institution, sexual violence, abuse of office).
