Marco Rubio rejected the possibility of lifting sanctions on Iran solely for opening the Strait of Hormuz. For this to happen, Tehran must make significant nuclear concessions.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that Iran will not receive sanctions relief for opening the Strait of Hormuz, UNN reports, citing AP.

Democratic Senator Chris Murphy pressed Rubio to clarify what incentives, if any, Washington is prepared to offer Tehran in exchange for a deal.

Rubio said that any sanctions relief must follow significant concessions regarding the nuclear issue and enriched uranium.
