The current US administration plans to provide Ukraine with very significant amounts of military assistance in the last weeks of its term. This was stated by Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga during a telethon, UNN reports.
"We discussed (with U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken - ed.) the implementation of all agreements at the level of leaders... We have specific decisions, we have specific confirmations of military assistance. The current US administration is planning to transfer very significant amounts of military aid to Ukraine in the last weeks of its term," Sibiga said.
According to him, the aid will include weapons and payment for contracts for the production of new weapons.
"Such assurances were actually received during the meeting of our delegations, during my meeting with Blinken," Sibiga said.
He noted that he and Blinken also discussed the issue of long-range strikes on military targets in Russia and Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration.
"We are also cautiously optimistic here," the minister added.
