Ukrzaliznytsia has signed a contract for the supply of 92 new passenger cars, of which 83 will be compartment cars and 9 will be barrier-free with inclusive compartments. The new cars will be manufactured during 2027–2028. This was reported by Ukraine's Minister for Restoration, Infrastructure and Transport Mykola Kalashnyk, writes UNN.

Of the 92 ordered passenger cars, 83 are compartment cars with the possibility of operation in compartment and SV format, and another 9 are modern barrier-free cars with inclusive compartments.
According to Kalashnyk, Ukrainian enterprises that manufacture components and equipment will be involved in the production of the cars.
In 2026, Ukrzaliznytsia received 21 new passenger cars of Ukrainian production. 166 Ukrainian enterprises were involved in their manufacture.
Under the state program, 358 new passenger cars have already been contracted, of which 187 are already transporting passengers. At the same time, the average age of the UZ car fleet today exceeds 35 years.
