The declaration procedure was made as simple as possible. Among the declared samples, weapons from the aggressor country were found. There is no limit on the number of weapons and ammunition per person, but an important condition is that the ammunition must be of the appropriate caliber for the weapon.

Details
According to the adopted law on improving the procedure for obtaining, declaring and handling firearms, the declaration is ongoing.
The police disclosed the results of the two weeks of declaration:
Since the start of the declaration on November 25, 2024, citizens have already applied to the territorial units and declared 640 firearms.
These are primarily rifled weapons of army type, as well as smoothbore shotguns and related ammunition. We are talking about weapons that were obtained somewhere, or possibly discovered and found before the war zone. We also get samples of weapons that were on the balance sheet of the aggressor country - the so-called Kalashnikov assault rifles
Regarding the number of declared ammunition, the expert answered the following:
Ammunition for weapons that citizens want to keep are declared. We are talking about 42,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibers. The ammunition must be of the appropriate caliber for the weapon in question. Ammunition that is not suitable can be handed over to law enforcement agencies.
The head of the Arms Control Department noted that the procedure for declaring weapons is quite simple:
There is a direct application from a citizen with a simple package of documents: passport, identification code, registered place of residence. After that, citizens can legally keep weapons
When asked whether there is a limit on ammunition for the type of weapon a person keeps, as well as for the weapons themselves, the National Police representative replied:
The law does not provide for any restrictions. The number of weapons that can be declared is unlimited. There are no restrictions on the number of weapons. If citizens can ensure the safe storage of these weapons, they can declare all of them.
