The Ukrainian men's épée team, consisting of Roman Svichkar, Nikita Koshman, Yevhen Makiyenko, and Mykhailo Krasnyuk, won bronze at the European Fencing Championships in France. This was reported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Saturday, reports UNN.

"The Ukrainian épée fencers won bronze at the European Fencing Championships. Our team, consisting of Roman Svichkar, Nikita Koshman, Yevhen Makiyenko, and Mykhailo Krasnyuk, climbed to the third step of the podium," the statement reads.
On the way to the medal, the Ukrainians defeated the Czech Republic (45:39) and Hungary (45:37), lost in the semifinals to the reigning European champions, the French team (33:45), and in the bronze medal match were stronger than Switzerland (44:31).
This is Ukraine's first team medal at the European Championships in men's épée since 2017.
