Ukraine and the European Union are stepping up cooperation on training Ukrainian military by EU experts. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, UNN reports.

Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Dzhyhyr met with the head of the EU Military Staff, Lieutenant General Michael Van Der Laan. The central topic was priorities for defense assistance to Ukraine in the short and medium term.

Deputy Defense Minister Yuriy Dzhyhyr thanked the EU leadership for its comprehensive support, in particular for organizing basic general military, professional, and collective training of Ukrainian military by EU experts.
In turn, the head of the EU Military Staff noted the courage and bravery of Ukrainian soldiers, emphasized the EU's readiness to continue the training mission and consider expanding it in accordance with the needs of the Armed Forces

Currently, 24 EU countries and Norway are involved in training Ukrainian military within EUMAM Ukraine. This is the largest mission in the history of the EU, which has trained more than 32,000 Ukrainian servicemen in various fields.
