Ukraine and Great Britain discussed strengthening air defense, anti-ballistic projects, and the supply of Meteor missiles for Gripen aircraft. The meeting took place between the acting Minister of Defense of Ukraine and the Chief of the Defence Staff of Britain.

Ukraine, together with the United Kingdom, is working on solutions to strengthen the protection of Ukrainian skies. During the meeting, the Ukrainian and British sides discussed further military cooperation, particularly in the areas of air defense, unmanned systems, and arms supplies. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, according to UNN.

According to Acting Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yevhenii Khmara, together with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi, he held a meeting with the Chief of the Defence Staff of the British Armed Forces, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton.

Grateful to the United Kingdom for its leadership and systematic support of Ukraine. We discussed Ukraine's efforts to seize the initiative on the battlefield. In close coordination with the Commander-in-Chief, we are preparing further actions to increase pressure on Russia, inflict greater losses on the enemy, and elevate the use of unmanned systems to a new level. According to available information, the Ukrainian side separately counts on assistance in supplying missiles for air defense systems, as well as Meteor missiles for Gripen aircraft to counter Russian KAB carriers.

Also discussed was the supply of anti-drone systems, which could be financed from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets. Ukraine has unique experience in modern warfare, which can also strengthen our partners. Reminder

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced funding of 300 million euros jointly with Sweden for the supply of 16 Gripen E aircraft. The funds will go towards the aircraft, pilot training, and infrastructure, with the first aircraft expected in 2029.
