Border guards in Sanok discovered undocumented Russians on a bus driven by Ukrainians. All foreigners were expelled to Belarus, and the transporters were given suspended sentences.

In Sanok, Poland, border guards detained two Ukrainian citizens who were transporting 12 Russian citizens illegally staying in Poland by bus. This was reported by the press service of the Bieszczady Border Guard Unit, according to RMF24, writes UNN.

The incident occurred on March 31 during a check of routes leading from southern Europe. During the inspection of the bus, border guards found 12 Russians who did not have documents allowing them to cross the Polish-Slovak border or legally stay in Poland.

According to the Polish side, the foreigners had previously applied for residence permits in Hungary, so they were supposed to stay there. All 12 Russian citizens pleaded guilty to illegal border crossing.

Russians expelled, Ukrainians convicted

The court sentenced each of the Russians to six months of imprisonment, suspended for two years. They were also banned from entering the Schengen area. After completing the procedures, all of them left Poland and went to Belarus.

The two Ukrainian citizens who transported the group were charged with organizing illegal border crossing. The court sentenced them to one year of imprisonment, suspended for two years.
