Two Russian servicemen are suspected of torturing civilians in Bohdanivka, Kyiv region. The victims were held in pits without food; one of the men has gone missing.

Law enforcement officers have notified two Russian servicemen of suspicion, who are suspected of ill-treatment of civilians during the occupation of the Kyiv region. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to UNN.

According to the investigation, during the occupation of the village of Bohdanivka in the Brovary district in March 2022, Russian military personnel intimidated local residents, threatened them with weapons, and conducted raids on houses. One of the suspects is a tank commander of the 90th Tank Division of the Russian Federation.

Civilians were held in a basement and a pit

Investigators established that the Russian military, along with other occupiers, detained at least three civilian men.

– the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.

According to the prosecutor's office, during interrogations, the Russian military beat people with their hands, feet, and rifle butts, trying to obtain information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine. One of the men was kept in a pit covered with a metal lid.

After another round of torture, one of the victims – a retired Ministry of Internal Affairs officer – went missing; his whereabouts are still unknown. The other men managed to escape. Currently, the pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers are identifying all those involved in crimes during the occupation of the Kyiv region.
