Prosecutors exposed a scheme of illegal accrual of "combat" payments totaling over UAH 2.35 million in a military unit. Two heads of the medical service and their subordinate were notified of suspicion. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, writes UNN.
Prosecutors of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Eastern Region notified the former and current heads of the medical service of a military unit, as well as their subordinate female soldier, of suspicion
According to the investigation, for over two years, the woman was groundlessly awarded additional remuneration for allegedly direct participation in combat actions. The total amount of illegal payments exceeded UAH 2.35 million.
The investigation established that the heads of the medical service entered false information into reports and other official documents about the subordinate's participation in combat and special missions. In reality, she was in Kramatorsk or outside Donetsk region and did not perform tasks that would entitle her to receive "combat" payments.
From October 2022 to August 2024, the former head of the medical service, according to the investigation, ensured the illegal accrual of over UAH 1.6 million. After his dismissal, his successor organized the payment of another over UAH 750,000.
Additionally, the officials concealed from command the facts of the female soldier's evasion of performing her official duties. In particular, in August 2024 and January 2025, she was in Sumy, but continued to receive financial support, and the time of her absence was groundlessly counted toward her length of service.
The heads of the medical service are charged with abuse of office, official forgery, and aiding the female soldier in evading the performance of military service duties under martial law.
Their subordinate is suspected of misappropriation of budget funds through deception on an especially large scale and evasion of performing military service duties under martial law.
The court chose a preventive measure for the current head of the medical service in the form of a personal obligation, for the former head - night-time house arrest, and for the female soldier - bail in the amount of UAH 266,240. Prosecutors have appealed these decisions.
At the same time, the current head of the medical service fully compensated the state UAH 754,838 in damages
