Polish Prime Minister Tusk has called on the initiators of Nord Stream to apologize and keep quiet. This is a reaction to the statement of the former head of German intelligence about Poland's involvement in sabotage of the gas pipelines.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has sharply commented on the situation with Nord Stream, UNN reports .

“To all the initiators and sponsors of Nord Stream 1 and 2. The only thing you have to do today is apologize and be quiet,” Donald Tusk wrote on social network X on Saturday, August 17.

He was supported by the head of Poland's National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera.

“The bad news for the recipients is that there is also unanimity in Poland on this issue,” he wrote.

According to Polish Radio, the comments of Polish top politicians are likely to be related to the statements of August Hanning, the former head of the German Federal Intelligence Service (BND). On August 15, in an interview with Welt TV, he said that Poland was involved in a sabotage operation to blow up the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

Context

On August 14, it became known that the German prosecutor's office had issued an arrest warrant for Ukrainian diver Volodymyr Zh. in June, suspected of involvement in the explosions at Nord Stream in September 2022. According to German investigators, the man was in Poland, but Polish law enforcement officials reported that they were unable to detain him because the Ukrainian left Poland in early July, allegedly for Ukraine.
