According to Tusk, Rzeszów was one of the first to mobilize to support people fleeing the war.
"Rzeszów is a savior city. This city was one of the first to mobilize to help everyone who was fleeing and seeking refuge after the start of the war," he stated.
The Polish Prime Minister separately noted the role of the entire Podkarpackie Voivodeship.
"Rzeszów and the entire Podkarpackie region have become an example of extraordinary solidarity," Tusk said.
He emphasized that the aid to Ukraine was a sincere human impulse, not just a decision by state structures.
"This was a solidarity that was born not in offices, but in our hearts and minds," the Polish Prime Minister stressed.
