U.S. President Donald Trump met with his national security team on Monday morning to discuss a new Iranian proposal to end the war. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced this during a briefing, UNN reports with reference to The Guardian.

Leavitt did not express an opinion on the proposal, under which the critical Strait of Hormuz would be opened and Iran's nuclear program would be discussed later. However, she stated that Trump's core demands remain unchanged.
"I will reiterate that the President's 'red lines' regarding Iran have been very, very clearly marked, not only for the American public but for them as well. I wouldn't say they are considering it. I would just say that a discussion took place this morning; I don't want to get ahead of things, and I'm sure you will hear about it directly from the President,"
