As of Monday, the maximum sustained wind speed in the storm zone was 75 km/h. The epicenter of Kristina was located approximately 160 kilometers west of the Nicaraguan capital, Managua, and 235 kilometers southeast of San Salvador. A tropical storm warning has been issued for the stretch of coastline from Puerto Sandino to the border of El Salvador and Guatemala.

According to meteorologists' forecasts, between 100 and 200 millimeters of precipitation could fall in Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala by Thursday, with up to 300 millimeters in some areas. This increases the risk of flash floods and landslides.
Kristina became the second tropical storm of the season in the eastern Pacific. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Boris continues to move off the coast of Mexico and is forecast to make landfall in the near future.
