Polish farmers are planning to go on strike in front of the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint on November 23. The restrictions will apply to freight vehicles. This is reported by the State Customs Service of Ukraine, UNN reports.

"To the attention of international carriers! According to preliminary information from the Polish side, local farmers are planning to start a strike in front of the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint on November 23 from 9:00 am Kyiv time," the statement reads.

It is reported that Polish customs officers have now informed that the protesters intend to allow buses and cars to pass in both directions without any changes.

The restrictions will apply to trucks:

  • 1 truck per hour to enter Ukraine;
  • to leave Ukraine - the movement of trucks weighing more than 3.5 tons is completely blocked.

"Currently, vehicle registration is carried out as usual," the statement said.

Previously

Polish farmers announced a possible blockade near the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint on the Polish-Ukrainian border from October 8 to the end of 2024. It did not take place then.

To add.

According to some experts, an additional argument for the Poles to block the border with Ukraine could be the NABU case against former Minister of Agrarian Policy Mykola Solsky. After all, he was the one who conducted quite dynamic negotiations with the Polish government to unblock the borders, but immediately after the NABU announced suspicion against the former Minister, Poland actually withdrew from negotiations with Ukraine.
