The main tasks of the airborne assault forces are:

– violation of the control of the troops and the work of the enemy's rear;

- preventing the planned use of reserves by the enemy;

- fight against airborne troops and enemy groups that have broken through;

- the occupation and maintenance of important objects and frontiers in order to ensure the smooth and timely operational deployment of own troops and forces in designated operational zones and districts.

since 2014, when the Anti-Terrorist Operation/JFO began in eastern Ukraine, and since the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022, amphibious assault troops are fighting in the hottest sectors of the front.
