Today, March 29, a rare solar eclipse will take place. It will be visible in Ukraine. This is reported by Science Alert, reports UNN.
Details
It is noted that residents of the Northern Hemisphere will be able to see a partial solar eclipse. It will occur during the new Moon - the Earth's satellite will partially cover the Sun, creating a unique visual effect called "Devil's Horns".
Such solar eclipses are part of the Saros series, which lasts about 18 years. They are less spectacular than total solar eclipses, but also cause a stir among observers.
The eclipse in Ukraine will take place between 13:00 and 14:00 Kyiv time, and it will be best visible in the Volyn region, where the Sun will be covered by 11%. In addition, in the Lviv region, the eclipse phase will be 6.7%, in Transcarpathia - 6.2%, in the Ternopil region - 4%. It will be visible in Lutsk, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr and Kyiv.
The deepest phase of the eclipse – 93.8% – is expected in Canada, near the Ungava Peninsula. There, the Moon will cover most of the solar disk and create a twilight effect.
