The Lutsk City District Court remanded a military man suspected of blowing up a grenade on Kovelska Street in Lutsk in custody without the right to be released on bail. This was reported by Yulia Shevchenko, a spokeswoman for the Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office in the Western Region, in a commentary to Suspilne, UNN reports.

"On July 9, the Lutsk City District Court sentenced the soldier who detonated the grenade on Kovelska Street in Lutsk to 60 days of detention without bail," the statement reads.
According to Shevchenko, the man, who is an active serviceman in one of the Volyn military units, is charged with Articles 115, part 2, paragraphs 1, 5, part 2, article 15 (completed attempted murder) and 263, part 1 (illegal handling of ammunition) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
If proven guilty in court, he faces life imprisonment.

On July 7, it was reported that in Lutsk, on Kovelska Street, an unknown man threw a grenade at people from a car window.
Subsequently, law enforcement identified the person who threw the grenade on the roadway in Lutsk on July 7 and detained the man.
