Details
"Three children were poisoned by carbon monoxide in Ivano-Frankivsk. The victims are children aged 4, 12 and 13. All of them were hospitalized. The probable cause of the poisoning is a malfunction of the stove heating," the State Emergency Service said on social media.
The SES reminded the rules for the safe use of stoves:
- Make sure that there are no cracks in the walls of the stoves and chimneys.
- Do not light the stove if the chimney is not clean.
- Avoid overheating.
- Nail a 50x70 cm metal sheet on the floor in front of the firebox door.
- Never leave a melted stove unattended.
"And the most important thing is to install a carbon monoxide detector at home, which will alert you to the danger if necessary!" the SES said.
