The Verkhovna Rada has registered a draft law that provides for the inclusion of unmanned systems forces in certain branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the government's representative in parliament Taras Melnychuk on Telegram, UNN reports.
Melnychuk said that the government had registered in the Verkhovna Rada: the draft law "On Amendments to Article 3 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Armed Forces of Ukraine’" (Reg. No. 11507).
"The draft law is aimed at building up the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to use unmanned and robotic air, sea, and ground systems, ensuring their readiness for use," Melnychuk wrote.
According to him, the draft law provides for an amendment to part one of Article 3 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Armed Forces of Ukraine" by including the Unmanned Systems Forces in certain branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Addendum
The government approved a draft law on the creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces within the Armed Forces, and allocated UAH 24 billion for the purchase of drones for the army.
In June 2024, Zelenskyy enacted the NSDC decision to create the Unmanned Systems Forces within the Armed Forces.
