The Parliament of Moldova expressed a vote of confidence and approved a new government headed by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan. 53 deputies from the ruling party "Action and Solidarity" (PAS) voted for the approval of the new cabinet, reports UNN citing Newsmaker.

Speaking at the plenary session, Tofan emphasized that the new government will focus on five priorities: economic development, using the EU accession process to modernize the country, increasing the efficiency of public administration, strengthening security, and improving the quality of life of citizens.

According to him, the success of the government's work will be assessed by the volume of attracted investments, enterprise development, export growth, and improvement in the quality of public services.
Earlier, Tofan presented the government program and the composition of the future cabinet to the parliament. He named his goals as turning Moldova into a country with the most business-friendly environment in Europe and accelerating its integration into the EU.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu nominated the candidacy of 44-year-old financier Vasile Tofan for the position of Prime Minister of the country.
Tofan is a senior partner at the investment company Horizon Capital and supported Sandu and her party "Action and Solidarity" (PAS) during the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections. His candidacy was put forward after the resignation of the previous Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, who served in the position for only eight months.
