The Government adopted a decision intended to simplify the preparation and implementation of public-private partnership projects. The new rules will make it possible to attract private resources to projects that are difficult to finance solely from the state budget. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, according to UNN.
The Government is creating a foundation for the systematic development of public-private partnerships
In particular, the Government adopted a decision that:
- establishes clear rules for preparing public-private partnership (PPP) projects;
- simplifies the preparation of small PPP projects worth up to EUR 5.5 million;
- unifies approaches to preparing PPP projects and public investments.
It has become possible to implement projects that are difficult to finance solely from the budget – PPPs make it possible to attract private resources and distribute risks among the parties
According to the ministry, the new approach will also contribute to the faster implementation of projects to modernize critically important infrastructure and the effective use of European and international investment instruments.
Today's Government decision creates a practical mechanism that gives impetus to the development of public-private partnerships in Ukraine. This means clear rules of the game for investors and more high-quality projects for Ukraine's recovery
